No Display of CSS Formatting using T4 Page Builder with Joomla! Custom Module

Dear Joomlart Support,

I have noticed that with the T4 Page Builder, used in the Joomla! Custom Module, does not display CSS modifications (resulting from the use of the T4 Builder segments – Layout, Style, Typography, etc.) to the content (such as image positioning, text formatting and icon size with colouring) in the front end.

The CSS changes are shown when the Custom Module is saved in the back end. However, the CSS modifications to the Custom Module content can be achieved if using the Inbuilt Custom CSS editor for the template. Is there a solution to allow CSS modifications to function in the Joomla! Custom Module when using the T4 Page Builder segments (Layout, Style, Typography, etc.) as it already does with the T4 Page Builder component?

Thanks for your reply. I’m unable to provide you with an URL because I’m developing on a Localhost. However, the first post in this thread states that the problem is using the T4 Page Builder with the Joomla! Custom Module, in that any CSS formatting of content using the T4 Page Builder’s in-built tools, with the Joomla! Custom Module, is not displayed in the front end, but is shown in the back end when the Joomla! Custom Module is saved. The Joomla! Custom Module simply doesn’t display content in the same way the T4 Page Builder does, when a T4 Page Builder page has a menu item.

Using the Inbuilt Custom CSS editor for the template (TS4 BS5), seems to be the only way to render the CSS formatting of content using the T4 Page Builder with the Joomla! Custom Module. Additionally, adding any Joomla! Module using the T4 Page Builder to the Joomla! Custom Module is not displayed in the front end, but this is not the case with a T4 Page Builder page that has a menu item.

You need to try these two tasks and view the results in the front end:

Format content using the T4 Page Builder’s in-built tools, in a Joomla! Custom Module.
Add a Joomla! Module using the T4 Page Builder to the Joomla! Custom Module.

Is any formatting shown in the front end and are any Joomla! modules displayed? Sometimes after editing or adding content to the Joomla! Custom Module using the T4 Page Builder, saving or closing the content creating page of the T4 Page Builder does not function and refreshing the page is the only way to return to the results of the Joomla! Custom Module, in the back end.

You can try this way:

1) Download this attached file

t4builderphp.zip

1kB

2) Unzip and copy the php file inside to this folder: ROOT/templates/your_default_joomla_template/html/mod_custom/ (Create this folder if it doesn't exist)
3) In backend settings of custom HTML module >> navigate to 'Advanced' tab and select 't4builder' layout for the module

Thanks for your reply and the fix for the issue with the use of T4 Page Builder within the Joomla! Custom Module. With any future update of the template (in my case Blank Template Bs5), will the fix be overwritten or will the fix be included in the updated template? Thanks for you continuing support.

The CSS capabilities for the T4 Page Builder, when used through the Joomla Custom Module, no longer functions. The option, under the Advanced tab for the module (see above), is no longer available. Please could you provide another fix/update until this is implemented (preferably permanently), in the next update for the T4 Blank Template Bs5. Thanks.

Thank you for your report.
I just check (on Joomla 4), the "Advanced" tab in custom HTML module is working fine. I also tested to add class to the custom HTML module and build a block with T4 page builder, the custom class worked fine, but please note that, the module style need to be assigned to html5.

Thanks for your reply. I think you’ve misunderstood my query. I don’t dispute the Custom Class field works as it should with the Custom HTML Module. However, that is not the issue, as the T4 Page Builder has its own formatting options, see the image below:

The formatting is displayed in the back end of the site when the T4 Page Builder is used with the Custom HTML Module, see the image below:

As you can see in the front end, the formatting is not displayed:

Selecting html5 from the Module Style field under the Advanced tab for the Custom HTML module is not relevant to the issue I’m experiencing. As you can see, a PHP file was created and issued by a member of your team: https://www.joomlart.com/forums/d/39993-no-display-of-css-formatting-using-t4-page-builder-with-joomla-custom-module/11 to allow the display and the selection of the option t4builder under the Layout field for the Custom HTML module to allow the formatting of content in Custom HTML Module to appear in the front end. This option is no longer displayed!

On my site, if you care to look, in the Modules (Site) section, click on the link for the module Footer Main, examples of which are in the first two images in this post. In addition to this, any Joomla! Add-ons such as menus, articles and modules are not displayed, in the front end, when dragged and dropped into the Custom HTML Module using the T4 Page Builder.

These issues are not a problem when using the T4 Page Builder, as Joomla! Menu Item, to display content on a page. The display of Joomla! Add-ons and formatting content is clearly non-functional at present when using the T4 Page Builder through the Custom HTML Module. Do you understand this now? I await your solutions.

I’ve managed to resolve this problem with formatted content and Joomla add-ons not appearing in the Custom HTML Module when using the T4 Page Builder. I deleted the mod_custom folder in the directory for the template I’m using, created the folder again, added the relevant PHP file to the folder and then I cleared the Joomla! and browser caches. This allowed the option for the t4builder in the Layout field, under the Advanced tab, to appear again for selection.
