K2-Layout issue in template

Hi, i am stuck with K2 issues in Photo template.
Template: Gavickpro PHOTO, Demo, as well my installation (see header), Joomla 3.10.6 Menu WORK, sub-menus Portfolio 1, 2
These two layouts differ: the articles are either separated by a gap, or have the title hovering above the article picture. I would love to combine both layouts: Gap-grid between the article photos (see menu item PORTFOLIO 2) AND having the titles overlaying the article picture (see menu item PORTFOLIO 1)
How could that be done? Been through it all and cannot find it.

Hi, unfortunately there is a side effect: If the K2 "simple gallery" is used in an article linked to the portfolio layout your CSS code adapted, the gallery now turns part of the gallery- thumbnails (not the portfolio thumbnails that you changed to a grid, those are wonderful) into a black frame, see attached screenshot (from mobile view, but desktop view is same effect). Thanks a lot in advance and sorry for the hassle!

exactly, your code has that side effect on Joomlaworks plugin. I just wondered if instead of adding a grid to the "GK-portfolio layout" (what does your provided code perfectly) it might be easier to add the missing overlay-text (see initial and now newly attached screenshots) to "GK-portfolio-grid" layout instead?

And I don't see the same class (as in my code) exist on this page so the code should not be effective on it.
