Blank screen when migrating and no images.

I'm having issues with the K2 migration tool. I'm trying to convert 4000+ articles.
I did a small test on a different (test) server / clean Joomla install with copied K2 tables from my live site. That seemed to work fine, exept I didn't have images copied on this test server. But the tool itself was doing the job.
When I run the migration on a exact copy of our live site, on the same server as our live site, I get a popup with a blank screen. I leave it open for some time, since I expect it to do something in the background. After a few minutes I get a message 'Temporarily failure' and then the list of Joomla articles is shown in the popup.

As far as I can see all 4000 articles are converted to Joomla content, but none of the articles have images. Also Joomla content has become real slow. Not only showing a list of articles, also opening one article for editing takes more time.

Do you have a clone of your site so I can take a look?

If opening an article is slowly in backend, could you test with creating a new article and see how it goes? I don't think it relates to the tool.

I've done some more testing. MIgration of images seems to work if the amount of K2 articles is not so large. There's still a blank screen for some minutes, but afterwards there's a genuine message that things went quite well. (Some small conflicts with category names, but that's fine)

What is troubling is that content in the admin is real slow after migration, even if I migrate only 25 articles. List view, editing and creating a new articles takes several seconds more to load than before migration.

At this moment I'm testing on a clean install of Joomla with no Joomla content or categories and a copy of my K2 data. I'll post my results here.

stevent I've done a clean J3.10 install on a local MAMP server, with no (sample) content. Installed K2 and copied the K2 database tables of our live site. Copied the K2 media (images, galleries etc.) to my local server.
Migration took some time, after two tries (and increasing memory) the K2 content was migrated.
Still: everything related to content, not just articles, but also adding a content menu item like a blog or list view, viewing and editing categories is enormously slow. (Custom fields surprisingly enough is fine) And this is only in the backend. The frontend is just running smoothly.
My guess is the migration tool is doing something to categories that messes things up, like an index on the database.

I found it. It is a Joomla bug releated to tags. Joomla (3.10 a least) can't handle queries on the tags table if this has thousands of tags. (In our case 5800+) Any extension that uses Joomla tags, has a query that gets all tags from the tags table, which is to large to handle. In my case the response time for the query is 4952.00 ms…

The bug in Joomla has been noted before and will be fixed in the next Joomla release.

I've cleaned up my tags before migration. I've now 2500 in stead of 5800 tags. (Still a lot…) But the original problem still exists: when migration I get a blank popup screen for minutes and then a list of Joomla articles in the popup. Articles are migrated though, but not the images. (See my separate issue posted in this forum)
