T4 backend (b5 template) - Layout Settings / edit position / Overlay/Background .. Unable to select an SVG file. When selecting it and selecting ok, no link is populated in the path.

It's weird as I just tried to add it as overlay background of section-2 in our demo site and it worked fine:
Make sure that you add svg as legal extension for image in Media option in backend of your site: image/svg+xml
