Mass emails sent to Users after Upgrade

Hi,

After updating to the latest version (after 3 years not updating anything), there are hundreds of emails sent to users. Old users that haven't been active the last years. (And therefore not received any messages in the recent past)

They all get the same message:

Hi {actor}, You have unread messages, click the link to view them now: <a href=_QQQ_{url}_QQQ_>{url}</a> Have a nice day!

Has anyone an idea how I can stop these notifications?

Since Jomsocial 4.5 version all version use message as chat and there is option to send unread message.
As all previous message move to chat table.
Open Jomsocial > configuration > message setting
And disabled unread message notifications.
Save and check.

You mean under “Privacy”? I have done that but still E-mails are sent. It’s repeating and repeating. How can I delete the email queue and stop these spam?

Once it off, the notification will not be sent for unread messages.
