Will Shape5 templates and extensions in time PHP8 compatible?

As Above, a lot of websites are still running on Shape5 framework, pluginds and extensions. Will it all be PHP8 ready before PHP7 becomes EOL? It's important to keep those websites also safe.

We are looking at a few months, if not ready in time I need to make a backup plan. We can't expose our clients to unsafe websites.

We have plan to updates Shape5 to Joomla 4 and it will support PHP 8 also.

At this point only PHP8 support will be a good start. I saw some templates/websites I updated did run on php8, after updating them. Not all.

I need to renew my developers account soon, hope to hear that at least the S5 templates, plugins and extensions will be PHP8 compatible. Not even asking for J4 migration at this point. PHP8 for now will give us some air.

Like you guys very much, always gave me good support but I need to keep my websites up and running in good condition, up to date and safe for clients. Hope you guys have some understanding for this.

So please let the team give a fair answer soon so I can make a decision what to do.

Got S5 template "Charity running on PHP8 now. With another template I got some issues with some extensions like Masonry.

ps for other S5 members:
Don't use a live server for get your site PHP8 ready. Make backup and then install every last update there is one by one. Use Mamp Pro or something, then you can switch between PHP7 & PHP8 to test and see what works and what not running on PHP8. The vertex component erase some settings in the Vertex framework what is also shit. Before updating Vertex make sure you make screenshots or write down of all pages with settings used in vertex.

Gutshot Thanks for your kind words. The team are working hard on these upgrade. In the meantime, could you share the list of templates + extensions that you're using that you wish to be compatible with PHP8? I will share with team to put it in priority when we upgrade Shape5's products.

Dunno if there is a way the vertex updater does not overwrite the used settings like colors, backgrounds, row size settings etc. Last time I lost most of my settings made in vertex during the update.

We're aware of this issue when updating Shape5's templates which don't have way to override like T4 / T3 based templates do.

For now, before updating template, pls backup this file: /templates/hexa_corp/vertex.json which stores the settings in template. After updating template, you can try to replace this file.

I will share the template list with the team and put it in priority.
