JA Content Slider - Links and Link Removal

Good day,

I am using Ja Nuevo template and it is using a JA Content Slider on the home page which links to articles. I have an issue/question on the link to the articles itself. When clicking on the default quick start auto populated link/image it just reloads the home page but in the URL box it does change to the article. My question is to either link it to an actual article and not just reload the home page or to remove the hyperlink completely so that it is just the image being displayed and not a clickable link.

Any help to do those two would be greatly appreciated.

Hi danab

This issue happens when that article doesn't belong to any menu item, in which it will automatically display on homepage.

The solution is that you can try to create a new menu item and assign that article (or category that article belongs to) to this new menu item. It will work fine then.

Thank you, is there anyway you can remove the hyperlink function? So that it displays it but you can't click on it?

I have tried that but it doesn't remove the link functionality, its still clickable and redirects. I have also looked at the code in the text editor and essentially removed everything except the text I want to display, but still a clickable box.

Anything else I can do to remove that function?

Apologies for the delayed reply. We have just about finished the website, the website is live at the moment. I have edited the fields for the login details in the ticket.

There are two main concerns/issues we are having at the moment:

On the Home Page at the Why Choose xxx there is a carousel with 7 points which links to an article, I want them to point to a specific link found at the menus at the top (why choose xxx), however currently 5 out of the 7 links to its own article, in the source in the editor there is no hyperlink to change when clicking on the read more button, I have attempted to add my own read more link but it doesn't display (<p><a href="link.com/">Read More</a></p>), I presume Joomla is overwriting it. Even if we can't let it link all to the same article that is fine, however two articles when clicking on read more just refreshes the home page.
The module above that where is shows Modules and Features, all is clickable as mentioned above in my ticket, I cant find a way to remove that function in the backend. Kindly advise how this is possible.

1 - The module "Why Choose xxx" is Articles category module which will display articles from a selected category so when you click to open, of course, it will open article pages.

2 - If you click to open an article and it displays on homepage, it means that article is not assigned to any menu item. You can try to create a new menu item and assign that article (or category that article belongs to) to the new menu item, it will open correctly.

Thank you for your response.

Upon reviewing your answering and checking on my end, there still are issues with it, unless I am overlooking it, its not there, else please guide as to where it is found.

The articles displayed are all in the articles category of features, however still two of the articles doesn't revert to the article when clicking on it, it reloads the home page. Please advise if there is something or somewhere else that I must assign it to a category except in the article -> Category panel on the right. Is there not a way to remove the link function in this so that it only displays the image as it is currently doing?
The article tabs doesn't give an option to assign it to any menu item. However in the module there is an option to assign it to a menu, of course it will be on home page at the moment as that is where it should be displayed, if this is changed it is displayed on a different page and not the main menu as it should. Please advise if there is another place I can assign it to, to link to a menu item. - As per my understand this is a seperate article intro and upon clicking it, it should revert you to the article itself and not to a menu item. Please advise.

Hi there,

I have manage to sort out the Why Choose xxx function.

The only thing I am battling with still is the features & modules section above it (JA Content Slider), in the description it states: "You can set display title, link title, introtext, readmore text links or not." which on my opinion if I am not mistaken, allows you to remove the link function. So that it is purely a slider and if you hover over it, gives the intro text. I have in the settings switched linked titles to no and show read more to no, but it is just a link that you can click. I have entered the article and changed the default read more link to another article link but once clicking on it, it still just reloads the home page. Ideally what I want is to remove the link function so that you can not click on it.

Please advise how I can edit this on your template as it is very urgent.

Hello,

I updated the FTP default directory. Attached picture show the landing page when logging in. From here you can click on public_html to access the Joomla files.
