Updated T4 Plugin and now can't edit Default pages in template

I updated to Joomla 4.1.5 and updated the T4 plugin, then I installed DP Calendar and made a menu item for it. Now when I try to go to the template to make changes to the default template, the icon to edit a template is gone, I can only copy it which doesn't do much good because you can never get to edit it. I don't know if this is because the issues associated with updating the T4 plugin (which never works, ever ever ever on any Joomlart template!) or if the template has a problem. In which case I will be unable to update the T4 plugin for the life of the website.

I do have an Akeeba backup to do a restore from, and will do so after you've had a look at what has happened. Perhaps you have seen this before and can tell me if this can be fixed. I was trying to change the default masthead image to something other than the gray patterned image currently showing when you select Calendar from the main menu.

Hi Pat,

In the new version 2.2.0 of T4 framework, the edit button was removed for better behavior. So that from now, when you access each section in template like Layout settings, you can edit it directly and click save button once done. You don't need to click edit button.

This improvement due to many requests from our customers who don't know there is edit button there, just scroll up / down but can't edit 🙂

But there is no way to edit the palettes! Where do I click? If you don't have a click to make changes to a palette, then what do you do? Nothing happens. Everything is grayed out.

And the same holds true in Layout Settings.

There is still edit button for each Palette, I just tried and could edit normally:

I can now see how to edit. Before it was grayed out and you couldn't click on anything except Copy. Today when I went to the template manager to check on this, the screen was blank for the preview. But I went to Layout Settings and click on the button for Layout Position Preview, and everything popped in place. I did this for the home page layout and the default page layout and all seems to be okay again.

This is what I saw initially, and I notice even in the image you show above my reply has a blank screen. I'm going back to work on this client site today, so I'll have time to check it all out. Thank you for looking at this.

Just an FYI, I updated the T4 in another template, and had the same experience with the blank screen. I hit the Layout Position Preview button, and it came into view. It seems the T4 is updating correctly this time. In the past I've had awful experiences with losing the formatting, whole modules disappeared, etc. I'm going to say this is completed until and unless it happens again, and then I'll open another ticket. So please close this one.
