Custom category view

Hello,

I have created a custom category view. Im able to select it in the category options. But in the frontend, the category is still diplayed in the default view (blog).

If I override the blog view, the changes are there, but the new custom view and his changes are not displayed at all.
Why is the custom view not displayed? Thanks for help.

Could you share the URL of that page and super admin account of your site?

And tell me in details of how you added this custom view so I can check.

Hello,

sorry but Im on localhost with this.

But how i addet the custom view - I created an overide from Joomla administration for com_content - category. Then I renamed the blog files to customblog files. After that, the customblog view is available in the administration to select in com_content settings and its also available in sigle category setting. But there is still the default view in frontend after that.

Ok, I find it out.

I did not have done everything. I wanted to have the custom view in a menu item. For this I need to create also the customblog.xml file, customize it and then choose this custom view as menu type in joomla menu item. Now it works.
