Mismatch T4 documentation on Site Settings?

Hi, I'm new to using T4. Got it installed on a NAS running Joomla 4, PHP 8.0. Just a simple test site using the T4 BS5 Blank template. When trying out all kinds of stuff I noticed the screen shots presented in https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/t4-framework/site-settings differ from what I experience. E.g., I don't seem to be able to create a new Site Settings Profile.
No mention of Site Settings Profile on the Site Settings TAB.
I also did notice that whatever I changed is a duplicate of a template style is duplicated in the orginal as well.

Any thoughts? Is there any additional documentation that may help take away the frustration that is gradually building up?

Hi Ger,

In each new version of T4 framework, we add improvements + updates so it may looks different from original documentation. I will share with team to update this.

glauwers I also did notice that whatever I changed is a duplicate of a template style is duplicated in the orginal as well.

For this issue, I guess these template styles are using the same profile so when you update, it will affect other style also. You can share me the URL + super admin account of your site and tell me the changes you want to apply, I will check directly for you.

I figured out what to do to avoid the duplication of site settings and layout settings. Had to copy some files in certain folders, rename them and then have access to them and be able to modify them independently.
In my humble opinion (I once started my working life as a software engineer back in the 80's), this override of defaults / addition of new settings could have been avoided / prevented if a 'Save As' option would be present for both the Site Settings and the Layout Settings.
Having to manually copy and rename files is so not 2022...

Meanwhile, I started to play with T4 Page Builder today and struggle with what should be a straightforward task to add a logo image to a header. I can select the image of interest (located in the default Joomla images folder) by clicking the Media button. Next, the image is not visible and cannot be selected for adding.

I assume the path to the image is filled in once the image is selected after which I can hit the Add image button.

Is this issue related to some configuration setting?

Hi,

Update on the insert / replace image issue...

I created yet another test website on my NAS using the quickstart version of T4 Page Builder for J4. I had to increase the max_allowed_packet setting for phpMyAdmin to be able install the package.

I did both an insert of a new image and a replacement of an existing image in the 'Biz' Home page and it worked as expected.
In addition, a new page was created, added header, changed logo from text to image, and replaced the image... no problem.

The big question now is why it didn't work in the other test environment where the T4 Page Builder package was installed in an enviroment based on a J4 quickstart version of the T4 Framework...

One noticable issue is that the first test setup shows an "Internal server error" after having tried to add/update an image.

Another difference is that the first test setup is running Joomla 4.2.0, the second is Joomla 4.1.5...

I guess I'll better do a clean Joomla 4.1.5 install again and install the T4 Page Builder package again to see if that is running OK. Then the obvious conclusion would be that Joomla 4.2.0 might be the culprit...

Another update...

Did clean install of Joomla 4.1.5, installed T4 Page Builder package...
After install select Components > T4 Page Builder > All Pages.
This generated an error: Attempt to assign property "name" on bool.

Tried to insert an image... no luck...
Tried to insert another image: it worked!

Difference between image 1 and 2: image 1 was a .PNG file, image 2 was a .JPG file.
After successful insertion of .JPG file, T4 Page Builder refuses to handle .PNG files altogether: no 'ghost' images anymore.

The bummer is that I find only .JPG files too restrive.
Why is there not support for other image types?

Yet another update...

T4 Page Builder can handle (some) .PNG files...

It depends on how the .PNG files was created / saved.

Under Joomla 4.2.0 it doesn't seem to work for both .JPG and .PNG files.

I appreciate the offer. There's no hurry, though...
I can live with J!4.1.5 for the time being. The (meanwhile multiple) test sites are on a NAS, no a live environment.
I'm in the process of preparing the upgrade of a long existing website that is currently on Joomla 3.10.11 / PHP 7.4 and a template based on an old framework (Gantry 4) to Joomla 4, PHP 8 and a more modern template.
It's a learning experience / journey.
I will delay an update to J!4.2 until you guys have fixed it on your end.
