Unable to get Contact Us page working with multiple contacts

I am trying to make a contact page like you helped me make for another site, https://lindentn.org/staff. Where there is a list of contacts, and when you select one of the contacts, the form and information is all about that one contact. I created the contacts, and no matter what I do now, I can't get the form to show up. It's a blank page, https://test.cityofclifton.com/contact-us. I tried checking all the settings in this site against the Linden site that is working correctly, but it didn't help a bit.

Please tell me what is going on and how to fix it. When I set it to Cassopedia, the form shows up, but no drop-down menu of contacts. So it appears to be in the template.

If I select all contacts in a given category, the names and addresses are there, but not in a dropdown box and no contact form is showing in Resort template.

Hi Pat

I checked the override of com_contact in template on your site and realized that it's old code.

I updated that file: /templates/ja_resort/html/com_contact/contact/default.php

It's working fine now.

I spoke too soon. I tried playing with it, added a fictitious contact to the category City Hall, and it appeared correctly, but when I unpublished it, the information for Kiersten Ramey and Austin were confused. Can you please check it again. I need to be able to add users to the contact list without concern for mixed up information. Thanks.

I used the same file you uploaded to another site, https://lindentn.org, with multiple contacts, and using the file you uploaded in this ticket, now I'm getting an error message:

Do I need to open another ticket for this same issue but in a different template? First, can you please help me get this working on the Clifton site, https://test.cityofclifton.com?

I added a generic contact that started with asterisks so it would default to first place. It's a work-around, not necessarily pretty, but if it could be fixed to reflect the correct user selected, that would be better.

I have a quick question about updating to latest Joomla and getting notices of overrides. Is there something I'm supposed to do about them? I have no idea what I'm looking at when presented with a list of overrides.

You can click on that notification >> Ja_resort Details and Files >> Updated files >> select all and remove record

Is anything going to be done to fix the original issue? When someone selects a given user from the Contact page, their name should remain in view in the selection box, and not revert to the top choice in the array. Yes?
