Error on error page

Hi,
I migrated JA Mono website from J3 to J4.
J3: www.solyscreen.nl
J4: solyscreen.0408429181.nl

It seems that in J3 version I get an Error on the error page.
(/home/solyscreen/public_html/libraries/legacy/error/error.php (200))

(Also on www.stetler.nl)

After migrating to J4, the Error page does not work at all.

Can you help to fix this problem?

It seems to be issue in Joomla 4 as I tested with Cassiopeia template but the same issue happened:

Since I am not that technical (read unable to solve this), i was thinking to rebuild the site into your JA Mono quickinstall package for Joomla 4. First I updated Joomla to the latest version.

When I am trying to see the 404 page - it is impossible. I get an 500 error - like I did on solyscreen.0408429181.nl.. Than i turned on error reporting.

If this is a Joomla bug/thing, why can I see the 404 page on agungs.0408429181.nl and not on solyscreen.0408429181.nl or solj4.0408429181.nl

Any tips on how I can solve this.. I could really use some help.

jan007 It may due to the upgrade process, something wrong with that.

If you have previous working version, pls try to revert back and update Joomla again and see how it goes.

I will try that with another site using the JA Mono template (www.stetler.nl).

Meanwhile I think rebuilding the website in your JA Mono Joomla 4 quickinstall was a good idea.. But also in the Joomla 4 quickinstall the 404 page does not work! You can login with the same user details.

I updated different website (https://stetler.0408429181.nl) and it is working fine.. EXCEPT the 404 page. It generates a 500 error.
If I rename the /templates/ja_mono/error.php file, the 404 error is recognized, the standard joomla 404 error page is visable.

It looks like the 500 error is generated by the error.php file in the template folder.

/templates/ja_mono/error.php from tempalte (with error reporting)

/templates/ja_mono/error.php disabled/renamed

I created a workaround on solyscreen.0408429181.nl

1) Created a 404 Article and 404 menu-item
2) in /templates/ja_mono/error.php changed this code:

defined('_JEXEC') or die;
if (($this->error->getCode()) == '404') {
header('Location: /404-error');
exit;
}

I really hope you can assist in a solution instead of this workaround..

That alert from core file of Joomla, I just commented that line of code - line 56: /templates/ja_mono/error.php
