Back to Top button doesn't work in component position

It is quite frustrating to discover that the Back to Top button only works when the scrolling through a used module position. It doesn't work at all when scrolling through the component section. This means that is there is a long article, you use the button without first scrolling down to a module below (e.g. copyright).

Is it supposed to work in the component section? Or is it something else? Given these are straightforward text and image articles, I can't believe that.

I just tested the Back to top button on our JA Alpha demo site and it is working fine. I tested on the article page here https://ja-alpha.demo.joomlart.com/index.php/news/9-strategic-planning/5-why-hiring-managers-are-sweetening-the-pot
In case it is not what you are mentioning, please correct me.
If possible, please provide the page on your website that has the issue. We are more than happy to debug and fix the issue for you.

Hmm. OK, it's now working fine on my home machine.

I have been working all day on my laptop - Win10+Vivaldi browser (though it wouldn't work in any other browser either). Now I'm home, I'm working on Linux with Vivaldi (same extensions).

I'm now wondering if Webroot AV is doing something on the laptop... There's only Clam on Linux. o.O I'll need to check that now....

I've checked.

Disabled Webroot entirely, made sure no Defender. Disabled all browser extensions... and it still did it. Does it in Firefox, Edge, Chrome, and Brave too. And also on my hotstart Alpha setup. And the Joomlart Apha (yes, typo) Demo version. BUT not on other JA demos (e.g. Sport, Athena, Findus).

Do you mean, the issue still happens with JA Sport, Athena... on your side?
I just tested the demo of the 2 templates in Safari, Firefox, Chrome and they are working fine (I am using MacOS). I also tested in a window computer, also works fine.
Is your website online yet? If yes, can you please share your site URL so we can take a look?

All of those sites, and mine, work fine on Linux with all browsers.

The Back to Top button works fine in Sport, Arena, and Findus on my Win10 laptop. But not Alpha.

I just checked a second Win10 laptop and got the same result.

An example where the button doesn't work in a long component section (on my Win10 laptops) is:

The site is in Dev and is still being updated for the template. It has been migrated from J2.5 to J3 to J4, and it is multilingual (three languages).

Just checked Alpha (JA demo and my site) on a third Win10 laptop (with Edge) and got the same result.
