CSS is not applied

Hello,

I have created the following custyom css in T4 Blank 1.1.4:

pre {background-color: #25292e; color: #FFFFFF;}

In the preview, the change is applied, but on the real website not. What is my mistake?
By the way: I would like to have a code block (in the pre-tag) with a black background and white characters.

I have disabled the off-canvas mode, and now, the CSS is applied. What is the difference?

saguaros Done. Now, I have changed the layout for PRE to black background with green characters in the CSS Editor. Not applied.

Maybe cache from your web browser? as it's showing correct color now from my side:

That is ok. In that case it might be a browser issue. On my phone it was showing correctly by the way.
