Maps API - Is Jomsocial using outdated software?

I am having great difficulty installing maps to get it working on JOMSOCIAL. Another major feature that i wanted to work hence buying Jomsocial.

I have read in the forums, a lot of people also having issues.

I have an API for google maps, I have enabled all the maps required as per the advice in the forums and my billing has been setup. On jomsocial dashboard, it did display a map of the world but says there is an error (its now gone blank as I tried doing several other things on Google maps website)

Anyway, I need this working as from a google point of view its all correct, from a jomsocial point of view, perhaps there is a fault??

ALSO.....on a profile, when editing your profile and adding a location, you start to type in a location, take London as an example, it looks like its going to load a list of locations, but it never does. Its just a free text box!!! Or is it supposed to list a whole load of locations? If so, why doesnt this work????

Please help, getting quite frustrated with Jomsocial as its sold for something exactly what i am after, but half these things are NOT working!!!

Just to add, that I found an error. It may be related or not, but its still an error. Please s

you will notice the location field is empty. On the front end, its not, there is a location written by the user into their profile. Its not displaying or pulling through to the admin area. Not sure if this relates to the map error, but I need this fixing.

Please would someone guide me to get this maps thing and location thing working on my site. Without out, its a MAJOR setback and flaw to what i need on the website.

Just found another error on the frontend of the website which may help locate my issue with maps not working. ("Friends location field not found") If you look closely, the location has been filled in on the profile. The colour is in grey and I dont know how to change this colour, but there is a separate ticket for this to be resolved.

Hope this helps and looking forward to getting this working, hopefully sooner rather than later! 🙂
