Ja Simpli 2.0 on Joomla 4 Nav Bar Brand questions

Hi,
I am using the Ja Simpli 2.0 template in Joomla 4, I am in the middle of moving from J3 to J4 and needed to solve the no Protostar problem.
I was trying to get a header banner working. There are two options. Using the Logo Image setting in the theme customizer, or using the background image setting in the Layout Configuration. In trying both these options I seem to have a nav-bar-brand setting referencing an image and no way to remove it even though it is now blank in both places in Edit Styles?
It feels like something to do with Simpli version and some bootstrap 5 conflict. But I am pretty Rookie at this. When I inspect with Google dev tools, I can't even see where the image is being called. Would appreciate some guidance.

I have looked at this further and something updated to the banner graphic that I changed last night. ie it feels like a caching problem, or Joomla 4 is caching this somewhere and it is time bound?? I have been clearing caches in backend and history in browser along the way.

Further investigation suggests that changing the Template Style Logo for Simpli isn't being saved into the css file in the template. in media/ja_simpli/css/custom-styles/19.css

Further to this I duplicated the Template style and it successfully created a new CSS file (20.css where 20 is the template style ID) and when it did it used the currently selected logo image, ie the right one. So it appears the backend template configuration can't write/save

I had the same problem.
I had to hardcode the image in the css file !

The modifications of the background image on the layout configuration were not replicated in the CSS file, even if it appeared in the layout preview !

Hi Saguaros,

From my point of view this can be closed, I can force an update to the Logo by changing a colour in the Header configuration. This may be a problem in the J4 template.
