Theme for JomSocial within an existing Joomla template

I have an existing eLearning site which I am planning to use JomSocial on. The site already has an existing theme, and when JomSocial loads into it, it looks very plain.

I don't want to replace our existing theme with a JomSocial them, but surely I must be able to apply something to style the component pages so JomSocial looks more like the product demos?

Appreciate some step-by-step guidance here.
