Error on Category list in Joomla 4 with PHP 8

I have installed ja_campaign template in Joomla 4.2.5 and PHP 7.4.30 and it works fine. However, if I upgrade the PHP to version 8.1.10 then I get an error-message when opening a category list, see the attached screenshot.

Downgrading the PHP to 7.4.30 then it works fine again.

Please help.

You can open file:

root/templates/ja_campaign/html/com_content/category/default_articles.php

Remove / comment line 22-24:

if(J3J4::isJ4()) {
$params     = &$this->item->params;
}
