You did not have the menu item for login page yet so it keeps showing the homepage.

I just created a new menu item under Hidden menu on your site, kindly check.

I tried to change it to another com_users itemid so as to show the already existing popup box in:
https://heloisamarra.com/_newheloisamarra/index.php?option=com_users&view=login&Itemid=636
And the same issue came up: it keeps loading the homepage and no popup.

As I can see that you changed the type of menu item I created from 'Login form' to URL

The link you added for this menu item ( https://heloisamarra.com/_newheloisamarra/index.php?option=com_users&view=login&Itemid=636 ) is homepage so of course, it will open in homepage.

You should have a menu item with type of 'Login form', then assign to template style which has default layout - not home layout. For example, ja_flix - Padrão (2) style.

I hope this makes senses.

That makes total sense, but it's not what I want to achieve.
I need to display the same module as it does upon clicking button "ENTRAR", instead of the menu item type Login.
Is this possible using this template?
When we unpublish the meu item you kindly created, clicking on readmore link (class mod-articles-category-title) will indeed open homepage again.
What I need is to change that target to the same module loaded as popup upon clicking on buttom "ENTRAR".
Where can I change that target?

guilhermey I got your point but the template follows the default behavior of Joomla when clicking item for 'Registered' users like that, in which it will link to login form.

In order to show up the popup like that, I'm afraid you have to customize it much 🙂

What I am trying to achieve is not unusual even on Joomla sites.
There must be a simpler way to do it.

guilhermey Maybe customization in JS so that when you click to open link, it will open the popup to show that login form. I suggest you to hire a developer to get it done for you.

Looking a little deeper into this issue, I figured out that I just need some further help from you to assist me.
I need to find a way in the template to set CSS Classes on the action buttons within each article (like "Read More") so we can define
specific articles where to raise a popup trigger a specific custom CSS Class.

The current section you're referring to belongs to Articles Category module, this file renders elements of articles:
