Want to Add Search Feature button

I have moved the site from a dev environment to production, and it is working fine, but would like to add a Search button feature on the home page. I'm attaching 2 screenshots. One is of a site using this Search feature on the home page, and would like to duplicate it on the City of Clifton site, screenshot attached of this too.

Is it possible to do this like the first site shows? I don't want to lose the city logo for the Clifton site in the middle of the main menu though.

Hi Pat,

In the right side of the main menu, there is position called 'head-action', you can assign your search module to this position.

I did that, and I'm attaching a screenshot... it shows up twice! And I didn't want that big white box, but the petite magnifying glass that when you clicked on it, the field opened up for entry. The only option to add a Search module is a smart search, not just the simple box. I unpublished it so the client won't be upset. If what I want to do here isn't available, then I'll just let it go.

I assigned the 'Search' module into 'head-action' position and add this custom css:

.head-action form.mod-finder.js-finder-searchform.form-search {
    position: relative;
    top: 30px;
    right: 60px;
}

You can enable this module if you want 🙂

I enabled it, both in the template Home page, and in the modules. I still have two instances of the Search field, and now it is covering up the Contact menu item in the main menu. What did I do wrong?

patvandenbosche How did you enable it? could you disable it so I can check?

I had Mainnav section, added another space for position head-action. Then created a module for Search (smart search was only search available), activated the space for it in the template homepage, and two instances showed up.

I've removed it all now, and taken it back to how it was prior to starting to add a search button.

OK, I've taken it back to where it was before I started adding the search feature.

patvandenbosche I don't know what you did, I simply enable that search module only 😉
