Can't Access Administrator page

I've tried all solutions I've read about, but can't seem to access the administrator page of my site: http://queencityrunning.com

I am now getting a message that says: "It appears you don't have permission to access this page. 403 Error. Forbidden."

Any additional thoughts?

Firstly, your site looks great. You’ve done an amazing job creating that.

Try checking your servers error logs for the exact time this error occurs. That should give you more information as to what is going on. It could be you have restricted access through a .htaccess file, via your cPanel or one of many other methods. The log should hopefully reveal more.

Otherwise, I'm not sure where else to look.

timpennington A simple way is that you can rename the current .htaccess file and replace with default htaccess file of Joomla and see how it goes, otherwise, you can try to contact your hosting provider if there is any specific rule which prevents access to this page.

Thank you for the advice.

I tried adding a default htaccess file but nothing seemed to change.

The file is called htaccess.txt so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

On my other sites that don't seem have a problem, the file is named .htaccess so I'm not sure if that is the difference.

The system won't allow me to upload a filed named ".htaccess" so not sure if that is the problem.

Additional advice would be helpful

For testing, you can rename the current ".htaccess" file and rename the default 'htaccess.txt' file to ".htaccess" and see how it goes.

If nothing changes, you need to contact your hosting for help as our template is for frontend, it doesn't have option to limit access to backend like this.

I contact my host (HostGator) and they couldn't find an issue.

I went back in and finally realized I need to see the "hidden" files and saw .htaccess

I downloaded a generic version of .htaccess and replaced it in the file manager, but that still didn't work.

I changed permission of the .htaccess file to 755, and still didn't work.

If I gave you access to my file manager, would you be able to look and see what is causing the the 403 forbidden text error?

I am truly lost on how I can't get in the /administrator page, and yet the site is still functioning.

Is there a generic .htaccess file I can add?

My existing .htaccess file reads as following:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
</IfModule>

It seems there should be a lot more there.

This forbidden must relate to server side, pls contact your hosting provider for further help.
