JA festival FONTAWESOME

hi guys! please, I need some guidence with how to best use FONTAWESOME with the templates... specially when inserting in menu items...

I'm trying to add font awesome icons to the menu items... and most of them are not working... I have tried:

• fas fa-handshake-angle
• fa fa-handshake-angle
• fas fa-hand
• fa fa-hand

In previous sites, I have noticed that some icons work with the "FAS" and others with "FA"...

so, my question would be, how to know which icons work with FAS and which with FA? how to know how that changes in different templates? is there a guide in joomlart's site where I can take a look? I tried to look but didn't found any...

Templates based on T4 framework like JA Festival will support FontAwesome version 5 & 4

You use 'FAS' for v5 and 'FA' for v4

In this case, you can add icon: fas fa-handshake , the icon 'fa-handshake-angle' will not work as it's version 6 not be supported yet.

please, I did what you said, but the menu item now loses its format... the font is not the same as the other menu items... it turned into something like "times new roman" :S

please, how can I keep the same font family for the text, font weight and so on but displaying the icon? I tried... but the class is inserted into the link itself... and if I try to put the fas fa-handshake at "Link Icon Class" it doesn't show up...

I updated this custom CSS into your site:

}

}
