JomSocial 4.4.5 Update stuck on "Upgrading database"

Hello,

I am going through the process of updating a Joomla site from 2.5.6 to 4.2.7 and JomSocial from 2.6.2 to the current version (4.8.2).

I have managed to get Joomla to 4.10.10 and JomSocial to 4.3.5

Upon uploading JomSocial 4.4.5 and going through the install steps it gets stuck at "Upgrading database" with a status of "Waiting"

I am running PHP 7.4 at this point of the install which according to the release date of JomSocial 4.4.5 (October 27, 2017) should be more than sufficient based on the PHP release dates.

What is going on and how can I get this to work? I need more than just a quick fix from whoever helps, I need to know how to do it myself once you find the solution because this site is a test site before I upgrade the live site. I will have to do upgrade the live site through all the steps as it is still being used and data will be lost if I don't start fresh on that.

The JomSocial update file 4.4.5 has been loaded and the JomSocial Installer is waiting to be finished at /administrator/index.php?option=com_community&view=installer

You can use package 4.8.2 to upgrade your Jomsocial without any issues.

Update:
Going straight to 4.8.2 allowed the update to finish properly, however now when I try to use any of the menu items in JomSocial (left hand side such as Monitor, Theme Designer, Configuration, Profiles, Pages, etc........) nothing works. I can see the browser link is "javascript;"

Could this just be that I need to continue the Joomla Updates and it will start working again?

Wow, I was not expecting that, I figured I had to go through all the upgrade packages to prevent issues.

It worked going straight from JomSocial 4.3.5 to 4.8.2

Sorry, erasing the browser cache seems to have fixed it. All good now.
