MIgrate uber template to joomla 4

good morning, I have to migrate UBER from joomla 3 to 4 but there is no tutorial

In your Joomla 3 website, you can simply update latest version of Uber template and its complimentary extensions, then migrate your site to Joomla 4.

I have upgraded all in UBER website, plugin, modules and template from 'Ja-Extension manager' , but when I go to run it - from joomla 3.1.11 to 4.3.0 - at the end I have a killer-message on site:

Cannot access protected property Joomla\CMS\Menu\MenuItem::$params"

Is it UBER really ready to Joomla 4.x.x ?

Your site is still in Joomla 3 now, could you share the URL where I can replicate above error?

Hi @saguaros!
After upgrade at J 4.xx it run in homepage with error
"Cannot access protected property Joomla\CMS\Menu\MenuItem::$params""

I had restore from Plesk backup, frontend turned ok, not backend because it's full blocked with error
"0 Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Form\Field\PluginsField::getDatabase()"

Now I can't go ahead but not even... backwards!
Could you suggest some solutions?

You can enable 'Debug' mode + set 'Error Reporting' to 'Maximum' and rename this file: root/templates/uber/error.php

It will show you the error in details and hint which file/extension cause this issue.

I first performed a db reset and then a website restore, then all the upgrades up to 3.10.11. Now it's all ok!
Do you think it is now possible to try to upgrade to Joomla 4.X?

HI Max,

You can clone your live site to a test site and try to migrate there first to see how it goes.

saguaros I have this exact same issue going. when I upgrade from joomla 3.10.12 to joomla 4.3.3 I get a Cannot access protected property Joomla\CMS\Menu\MenuItem::$params on the front end of the site. I noticed if I disabled the Joomlart acm module which is on version 2.3.5 the error goes away. This makes me think something is wrong in the acm module itself. Can you please address this?

By the way I deleted out all layout overrides and this did not fix it. The only thing that makes the error go away is disabling the JA ACM module.

Now I'm going to do the J4 upgrade on this site https://ilmedicodellosport.it/ with Uber that has Joomla 3.10.

The extensions Pre-Up date Check gives me critical issues - as well as on the ACYMAILING module that I tried to uninstall - on the JA MASSHEAD module, on the JOOMLART INSTALLER INSTALLER PLUGIN and on FILES_UBER_MEDICARE. Is it possible to ignore these plugins by Joomlart in this upgrade phase?

An upgrade attempt made in May already went badly, do you think it's possible to try again now?

Hi Max

Make sure that you install latest version of JA Masshead module.

About AcyMailing + JoomlArt installer plugin, you can temporarily disable them now and try to upgrade.

Always remember to BACKUP your site first.
