Article Navigation Order is Set How?

I nearing the end of rebuild of my website at www.retinarecovery.ca/_retina2. I'm trying to come to an understanding of all the navigation systems works in the article.

My articles are ordered properly under MENU "Recovery Tips" - Most Hits
Under the Category "Recovery Tips' - Hits Descending
When I visit the first article in the list (My Timeline which has the most hits) the navigation indicates PREV instead of NEXT - https://www.retinarecovery.ca/_retina2/index.php/facedown-recovery-tips/my-facedown-vitrectomy-recovery-timeline

I have stared at this for a few hours trying to figure out how the navigation order can be changed. To me it only makes sense to be able to hit next and it goes to the next article.

How is the navigation order set?

Is there a way of changing this order to it always navigates to the next article based on hits?

I got your point but this page navigation is controlled by default Joomla plugin: Content - Page Navigation

Unfortunately, there is no option to change as you wish.
