Links in Right sided main content do not work on mobile

Bizarrely, I have a main content page with <a> hyperlinks that do not work when:

Displayed on a mobile device or laptop/desktop browser with the window width shrunk to its thinnest
The template is configured to have main content on the RIGHT
The page has a module assigned to the sidebar (appears on the left)

If the template is adjusted to display main content on the Left then the hyperlinks work fine.

I tried the workaround suggested on the above linked discussion and it works, but wanted to report this for consideration of a longer term fix that does not required custom CSS. We will be migrating to J!4 this year but are not yet in a position to see if the same issue arises there.

Environment has

Joomla 3.10.11
PHP 8.1.17

Our template should work fine with J4, you can backup your site, update to J4 and let us know if the issue persists.

I updated a test site to J!4 to check the template behaviour and find that the layout does not display the main content on the RHS when it is configured to do so. So the sidebars always appear on the right. I have tried reinstalling ja simpli 2.0.2 after update to J!4 but still cannot get the main content to appear on the right. So I cannot check if the z-index workaround is still required or not. On J!3 it did display the main content as configured via the "Content Position" field.

sailbod It seems to be issue here, I've reported to our dev team to get it fixed. I will keep you posted.

Not sure if it helps, but I found in the chrome dev tools that disabling flex shown in the screenshot (applied from grid.scss) puts the side bar on the configured side. I expect this means its a bootstrap5 integration issue.

Hi Saguaros, yes those changes in the two files have resolved the sidebar on the left issue we had.
Many thanks to you and the dev team for looking at this. I assume these or similar changes will be in the next release of ja-simpli?
