Hello. I have Joomla 4.1.3 and Guru 6.0.2. Therefore, I must update Joomla and also Guru.

Additionally, 5 pending updates appear in the system: JA ACM Module, JA Coach Template, JA Masthead Module, Spanish and T4 System Plugin.

In short, I have a lot to update.

I tried just running the updates for everything and the result was chaos. Therefore, I had to restore a backup.

Please, can you give me indications of what is the correct way to update all this. Considering that currently the web has active students.

Thank you.

    Joohmla Hi

You can update all of these extensions and templates first, then update Joomla to latest version 🙂

    OK thanks, ready.

    Now this happened:

    1) Error updating template.

    • Since the direct installation of the template didn't work, then I installed "JA Extension Manager".

    • However, even if I installed several versions, this component did NOT appear in the Joomla menu.

    • So I decided to update Joomla to 4.3.0. After updating Joomla, the "JA Extension Manager" component appeared correctly in the menu.

    • I entered that component and updated the template from there.

    • The update did not show any errors, but then, the menus (guru) of the website no longer work.

    • I already updated this post with the access information so that you can test the system.

    .
    2) I already installed the Guro component update.
Should I also update the modules and plugins?

Waiting for your help. Thank you.

    Hi,
I've check your site and found out that you're using an incorrect guru version. There are 2 folders that work as guru component: com_guru & com_com_guru, causes routing issue (404 page).
The folder com_com_guru should be removed.
Please confirm that you don't use folder com_com_guru for any reason. If so, i can help you fix this issue.
    Regards

Hello. Thanks for the explanation. 😉

    1) I tell you that I have no idea if I use the com_com_guro folder or not. I use Guru but I don't know what it stores in that folder.

    2) This is a demo site that I installed for upgrade testing. Then when the demo site works I need to replicate what you do on the real site. Please, tell me with details what I should do or what you are going to do, so that I can do exactly the same on the main site later.

    3) Please note that there are active students on the site.

    4) You tell me that I am using the wrong version of Guru. But I don't know how that happened, I only update version by version until the last one. what could be wrong?

    Thanks. 🙂

    Hi,
I've added the fix to your site, kindly check.
There are the steps to fix it:

    • change folder name /components/com_com_guru to /components/_com_com_guru
    • change folder name /administrator/components/com_com_guru to /administrator/components/_com_com_guru
    • open config of menu Mis pasos at backend, and choose its menu type again.

    Done.
