Multi Factor Authentication not working front end

Hello,

I'm using Joomla 4 and the GameX theme.

If I try to log into the front end of my site with a user that has multi-factor authentication enabled, after entering in the username and password the page is redirected to "index.php/component/users/captive?Itemid=101", but there's no MFA box to input the 6 digit code. It doesn't show any content on the page. How do I fix this?

This issue does not occur using Cassiopeia.

If you use Login module to login from frontend, you can set the redirection after login / logout:

About the multi factor authentication, do you mean that the authentication doesn't show in login form? Could you test with default Joomla template like Cassiopeia and see how it goes?

Yes, the multi factor authentication box does not show after the username and password are submitted.

I already test with Cassiopeia and the same issues does not happen.

I switch to Cassiopeia template but did not see that authentication either:

The error occurs when trying to login on the page you show above with an account that has two factor authentication enabled.

But it only happens with the Joomlart GameX template and not Cassiopeia. So it seems it's an issues with the GameX template from what I can tell.

I don't get your point, I assigned that login page to Cassiopeia but no authentication field showed there like my above screenshot.

Could you check again?

You'll have to enable multi factor authentication for the user account I gave you credentials for and then try logging in to see what happens.

127ys23 It seems that there is cache settings on your server side, I tried to switch to Cassiopeia template but no change on frontend. Could you temporarily disable this cache setting?

FYI, the home page menu item, which is in the Hidden menu, has the template set to GameX. I'm not sure if that's why you're not seeing the change to Cassiopeia.

I checked and System Cache is off and Joomla is set to Dvelopment Mode as well. I'm not aware of any other cache settings. I've switched to Cassiopia multiple times including just now and have had no issues with seeing the change immediately.

127ys23 It looks like that when you click to login, it forces to redirect to open on homepage. However, the homepage doesn't include the main content block so the input field for adding digit code did not show there.

I just changed the subpage layout for Home template style to 'default' and it seems to be ok now.
