Database problem(?) causing issues with 'Search' and 'Menu' modules

The Quickstart template was installed upon initial release (using 'Style-3' as default design) and I recently noticed the 'Search' module looking/behaving differenly (all pages except homepage, which works properly). (*The 'menu' modules are also gone from the Administrator, yet the menus still work)

1) I've never been one to 'Delete' modules (much less 'Empty the Trash'), is it possibly the first Quickstart release had issues?

I've tried 'Discover' and 'Reinstalling Core Files' and it didn't help. I then installed the newest version of the Quickstart and although the 'Search' modules works properly and the 'Menu' modules appear in the Admin while using the default database, the moment I update my database from the previous installation the problem re-appears (thus my conclusion this is a database problem, and not related to installed files).

What's causing this, and how best to resolve it?

I installed Quickstart package of this template but could not replicate the same issue.

I also created a 'Test' module on your site but I could delete it.

Yes, one can still create and delete modules. I'm actually trying to understand the cause and solution to my issues with missing 'Menu' modules. As you'll note there are none, yet all the menus still works. As mentioned I'm not one to delete modules (much less 'Empty Trash'; I simply 'Unpublish' them), so it's a complete mystery to me on why the 'Menu' models are missing.

At first I though I might have deleted some files by accident, but when I changed the database back to the Quickstart default all the 'Menu' modules reappeared; thus my inclination this is a database issue.

If I can't discover the cause, I'm at least very eager to explore potential solutions, amongst them:

1) Is there a way for me to 'Upload' and ultimately mix my current database with the default database so that the missing 'Menu' modules reappear?

2) If #1 is not possible, is there a way to upload specific database tables related to the missing 'Menu' modules?

3) Is there any other cause/solution I should be exploring?

*I'll separate and write a new post about the 'Search' module as it seems unrelated to the database.

What you meant by missing Menu modules? I just created a test menu module and it's listed in backend now.

Could you clarify steps so I can replicate this issue?

saguaros Hi Saguaros, yes, one can still create 'Menu" modules, but I'm trying to understand why the default-menu-items have disappeared, and if there's a way to reinstall/fix them.

Here's a few questions that might help you understand my issue.

1) Do you notice that there are currently NO menu-modules in my installation?

2) I find it odd that even without the menu-modules the published-menus work just fine. Is it possible the default menu-modules still exists but they're invisible in the admin's 'Module Manager'. That's a big mistery, I don't know why they disappeared and don't understand why they're still working.

3) To prevent any problems in the future I would like to fix this issue and once again have the default-menu-items reappear. Maybe they're 'invisible' via settings, or maybe I can reinstall certain files, extensions or databases to make the original menu-items behave as originally intented.

I don't know what are 'default-menu-items' that you're referring to.

I don't see any menu on frontend either so could share screenshot of the menu which display on frontend but the menu module doesn't exist in backend?
