PHP8 and JA Multilingual

Can it be that JA Multilingual - one of my all time favorite plugins - does not work properly with PHP8? After I updated to PHP8 I am getting the following error when switching from German to English language:

htmlspecialchars(): Argument #1 ($string) must be of type string, array given

Is this a known problem linked to JA Multilingual or is it not related to the plugin?

Which version of PHP 8 you're using? It may not be ready for PHP 8.1/8.2

You can enable Debug mode + set Error Reporting to Maximum and see where the error comes from.

It is PHP 8.0.28. The error trace is below.

morgenstern Which Joomla version are you using? The error indicates issue from core file of Joomla, not JA Multilingual extension.

I am using the latest 3.10 version.

morgenstern Joomla 3 itself has error with PHP 8 and Joomla 3 will be end of support very soon this year. You should use PHP 7.x for Joomla 3 or consider to upgrade your site to Joomla 4 to use PHP 8.x

The upgrade is on the list but not all extensions are ready yet.
