Hi,

this is in continuation of ticket which has been locked:
https://www.joomlart.com/forums/d/45789-template-stile-administration-page-looks-weird-after-upgrades

Issue:
we have been using for quite some time the JA Smallbiz Template on our Joomla 3.10.11. page and didn't have any issues with the template style administration in backend so far.
We then kept updated the templates and its associated modules and plugins with the JA Extension Manager so that we always have the latest supported releases.

In the recent past we have performed updates again and just realized that the Template Style Administration page looks now weird and does not longer have the known user interface.

The issue happens as well on other installation with Joomla 4 for which we have granted you login access.

You told me that It looks like Solidres causes this issue and if Plugins: System - Solidres is disabled it works fine.

That is correct but it is not the solution.
I contacted the developer of the plugin and the statement is that the issue is with the JA Small Biz template since this template is built on told T3 framework, not the latest T4.
In the past the solution was to disable JS optimization - but this workaround is not longer working.

So I have performed further tests and installed another two templates to proving that the issue is reproducible.

I have tested the same with T4 framework template JA Purity IV and kept Solidres Plugin activated - and all was fine and no issues.
I have then tested with T3 framework template JA Teline V and I have exactly same issue as reported with JA Small Biz.

So there is definitely an issue here with T3 templates or the T3 System Plugin itself. Some changes have introduced this issue and it is causing this UI problem in template backend when the Solidres System Plugin is enabled.

But as stated this was not an issue in the past years and we have always been using Solidres since this is a key component and solution for our services.

Just moving to a T4 framework template is currently not an option - so we prefer a solution on current template Small Biz.

There is somewhere a conflict and we should identify this please.

Regards
Markus

Hi Markus,

Thank you for providing a detailed explanation. It appears that there is a conflict between Solidres and our T3 framework when using them together, which is not a bug in either of them, but rather a result of their differing operational methods. The T3 framework requires a file override for the backend of templates in order to display properly and supports advanced override functions in template. On the other hand, Solidres prioritizes loading the original HTML file of Joomla, which prevents T3 from loading the override and consequently causes the issue.

Unfortunately, it would be challenging for us to redesign the T3 framework specifically to accommodate Solidres, and I believe the same may be true for Solidres as well. However, I have identified two possible solutions to address this situation:

1/ The T3 framework is now quite old, and we recommend considering a more recent template built with the T4 framework.
2/ If you prefer to use the JA Smallbiz template, please note that this issue only affects the backend settings view of the template. To make changes to the template settings, you can temporarily disable the Solidres plugin. Once the configuration is complete, you can re-enable it.

I understand your predicament, but unfortunately, I am unable to offer much assistance in this particular case.

Hi saguaros,

thanks for the fast reply another time and the technical explanation.

Considering that we indeed have an easy workaround on the existing environment with JA Small Biz, we are now accelerating our strategy to moving to T4 framework templates in short term and not in long term as initially planned.
Since we are anyway migrating to Joomla 4, we can then combine this with T4.

The ticket can be closed.
Thanks and regards

Markus
