I'm in the process of upgrading Joomla 3.9.x to Joomla 3.10.11 then to Joomla 4.x

We currently are using JA T3 Framework version 2.7.6. I came across your blog that had a preview for T3 on Joomla 4, but the upgrade is no longer available.

Can I load T4 directly over T3? Not finding much info on this.

One of the errors I am getting is this:

Attempted to load class "JRequest" from the global namespace.
IN: /plugins/system/jat3/jat3/core/admin/util.php

Server is behind a firewall and not open to the public.

    That JA T3 framework is so old version and will not be upgraded to Joomla 4. I recommend you to switch to use a template which built with T4 framework for Joomla 4.

    These are 2 different frameworks so you can't do that unfortunately. You need to start from scratch.

        Just a follow up on this question as I'm in a similar situation. I just managed to upgrade an old J!3.10.12 site to J!4.4.2 using latest T3 plugin and T3_BS3_blank template.

        I understand that T3 & T4 are different and that the later doesn't upgrade the former, but can I install T4 parallel with T3 or do I have to uninstall T3 before I can start to play around with T4?

          That's great news, and what about Joomla 5.x? I tested to upgrade to J5.0.2 on a copy of the site and it went through without problem and so far I haven't noticed any issues with T3, except what I other post but that's the same in J4 as well.

          I do notice that "Theme magic" isn't present in T3 on J4 & J5 though.

            schakim It depends on template you're using, T3 & T4 can work well together in J4/J5.

            There are significant changes from J4 and ThemeMagic will no longer work so we remove it from Joomla 4 🙂

              Yes, J4 & J5 are quite different from the J3 branch, but if Theme Magic is removed how do I create a new theme? While still on J3 I created a new theme in Theme Magic to avid having my changes overwritten on updates. I can't see that option elsewhere in T3_bs3_blank but maybe that;s fixed in T4?

              If that's the case, nop as I will install and test T4

              saguaros Sorry if I burden you with lots of questions here, but when I created a new theme for t3_bs3_blank using Theme Magic in J3.10.12, T3 put all files in local/less/themes/theme-name/ I assume to not have it overwritten in case there is a new update to the t3_bs3_blank template? Although more thinking in terms of T4 here as it's where I aim to go anyway.

              But I have an other issue I have noted. I've done some changes in devmode to my theme's less files and it shows up, but when I switch off devmode and compile Less -> CSS the site goes back to how it was before. Also, I can't see any new CSS files being created/overwritten.

              It reminds of a typical cache issue, but I have cleared all cache to no avail. What about T3-Assets? Does files there get recreated so I could clean it out in case there are some stale files?

                Hey, forget about it. I just installed T4 and will try to recreate my theme there and it has a theme copy button as well so all fine. If I have any issues I will post in the T4 forum install.
