Is the Template version 4.2.1 compatible with Joomla 3? Meaning all my Joomla sites are running Joomla 3 with template version 3.26. I want to update the templates to teh latest version 4.2.1. Will it work?

Yes, it should work with both J3 & J4 version.
However, it's best to backup your site before installing this new version (just in case)
