Good morning
I am not satisfied with my previous post about gender
Because I also want to turn on the dating, there must be more genders.
Only man or woman is no longer of this time. Tv/Ts and couples also date and they deserve the right to declare it just as much as husband and wife.
I've had that in the profiles for a long time, but I think it should also be in jomsocial and not just male or female

Have you had a chance to explore the custom profiles feature in JomSocial and see how it goes?

The 'Gender' field has been integrated into the core of JomSocial with only male and female options. Modifying this field to include more options will involve significant changes to the core functionality.

Rest assured, I have already shared this feature with our development team, and they will consider updating this in future releases.

I assume that this will come with the next update because only man and woman is absolutely out of date.
Surely because in jomsocial it's dating feature there should be more choices and I mean couple and tv/ts too

Nothing, no update and still nothing is being done about the problem that every registered member, regardless of which group they are placed in, can come to the Jomsocial.
For us, this means that every free member has everything at their disposal in Jomsocial, just like the paid members. This is really not allowed and is not possible.
When are you going to do something about that? Ever since I bought the package, I have been talking to Julie about it, but nothing has been done about it

I hope that changes to gender in registration aren't made to the core in Jomsocial and that you find a solution to your problem via an override or custom work. Not everyone is of the same opinion when it comes to Gender ID.

Given the current times, it should actually become mandatory..
There are not only males and females living on this planet and in the context of respect for each other, I do not understand this reaction.
In addition, Jomsocial itself has a dating module, so you also have to ensure that everything is available and not just men and women...

Maybe the Jomsocial forum isn't the best place to have this conversation but I'd be happy to continue it by email if you like.
Male and female are the only two sexes. People are either male, female or intersex which is an expression of both sexes depending on the DSD of the individual. It isn't disrespectful to speak the truth.

I don't work for Jomsocial, I'm just a customer like you. I don't believe my comments excluded anyone and neither does Jomsocial.

JomSocial has been developed long time ago when there are only 2 genders only. This field is used in various part in core of JomSocial so when adding new gender, it would take time and as I mentioned above that I've already passed to our JS team for further consideration but there is no news on this yet.

In the mean time, you can consider to use custom field for now.

If there is update on this, I will let you know.

Go to your FTP connection, and find file:

On the line 111 you can add whatever genders you want.
Depending on your language, you can (obviously) add your additional strings there too. 😉
