Bootstrap 3 problem (Purity III on Joomla 4)

It appears the problem is with Joomla URL rewriting. Once I turn that off in the global configuration and rename the .htaccess to htaccess.txt again, everything works well.

Any pointers how I can fix this? I need rewriting ON and therefore .htaccess. But I also need collapsing to work.

It means there is specific rule in .htaccess file that prevents it from working, you should check rules on this file again. You can compare with the default htaccess file in Joomla 3 package and see the difference.
