Hi, I purchased the service to be able to use your extensions, in particular I am interested in k2 migration to joomla content.

I am following the instructions that are contained here:
https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-plugins/k2-to-com-content-migration-plugin

Unfortunately the migration doesn't work.
I have to migrate around 13,000 articles and 400 tags, as well as some extra fields.

If I stop at the "installation" chapter, you mention 4 elements:

JA K2 Convert plugin
JA Content Type plugin
JA Ajax Content type plugin
JA K2 to com_content migration package

But I've in my installation this one:

System - JA Content Type
Ajax - JA Content Type
JA K2 To Com Content Migration

In the download area of your site I didn't find anything else to download.

With the first attempt, it reported a problem because there were empty tags.
I restored the backup, deleted all the empty tags and started following your guide, but when I open the popup window it stays blank and nothing happens.
While I am writing to you I saw that something was partially imported, but for example the extra fields were not imported.

If I try with the second procedure (I don't understand if I have to do them together, first one and after the other, I can't find the specification in the guide) "migrate extra fields" an error appears.

While waiting for a response, I restored the database to the moment before starting the import procedure, and tried starting "migrate extra fields".
A white page remains open which does not provide me with any information, I see that the database in the "fields_value" table has been populated, but the white window is still empty and I have no idea if the values are completed.

How can I be sure that everything happened correctly?

And also I don't know if I'm doing the procedure correctly, because after restoring the backup, I started that job first, should I do the k2_items after?

I tried starting from "migrate use extra fields", I don't understand the difference.
The two entries mean:

  • migrate the contents normally, or
. migrate from k2 and also understand all the additional fields?

I don't understand how long it takes, should I increase the hosting performance? I don't see a progression?
At the moment, I have migrated maybe 1/5 of the articles and I don't even know if they are correct.

I raised the indicated variable max_input_vars to 50,000 and also increased the RAM of the virtual host, but nothing happens.
I can't understand if it's a matter of time or something else, why the migration isn't completed.

An update seems to have migrated everything in two hours by increasing the value of max_input_vars, with the exception of one category where 180 articles out of approximately 4800 are missing.
Unfortunately I don't have a log where I can see what happened, because the popup modal page remained totally blank.
What can I do?

Hi

I tried to access your site but the Joomla admin account seems not working, could you check again?

Good morning, unfortunately when I didn't receive a response I had to do other tests.
After several hours the migration procedure appears to be complete.

Unfortunately the modal popup window that was supposed to give me the directions did not appear.

I had to do a manual comparison from the database to understand if everything had migrated, I hope that this also happened for all the hidden fields that I manually checked randomly.

Now the only remaining problem, given that I have little time to deliver the work after the problems encountered, is to understand why in the administrator, when opening the article management, the website became very slow, I hope this will be resolved with the upgrade to Joomla 4 and then Joomla 5.

However, I don't have a verification tool to understand if all the extra fields have been transferred.

There are many aspects that can affect the loading speed of your website, the easy testing is that you can switch to use Cassiopeia template - standard template of Joomla and see how it goes. This will help to see if the problem comes from the template you're using or not.
