Hello!
We are using JA Blockk on content heavy site and noticed that News pages that are using the Magazine Layout menu item type the latest articles from the set category are not showing. After making some tests we figured out why.
Since this is not a new site, but an update and redesign, most menu items already existed and the News menu items were set to Category Blog, and most of them had a Leading Article value set on the Blog Layout options. When switching to Magazine Layout, this value remains on the database, and there is no option to change this or reset this on the Blog Layout options once the menu item type is changed, causing the latest article (or the number of articles set to Leading) not to show.
Another thing is that other menu items will remain as Category Blog pages, and will use a Leading Article value of 1, which is set also on the Global settings of the Article options. So even when creating a new menu item, this Leading Article value will be 1 without the user being able to change it once Magazine Layout menu item type is set.
We would like to know if there is a possiblity of getting this field added so we and other users can set this value to zero even when the menu item is set to Magazine Layout. Right now we've had to make the update directly on the Database as doing it manually would have taken too long, but future site users will not be able to handle it. I also know this might not be an issue on clean Joomla installs as menus will be created without any previous settings (assuming the Global Value is not changed), but for anyone who might be wanting to use this as we did on an existing site, it could be an issue not having this field on the Blog Layout Options.
Please watch this quick video if needed for details on how to replicate: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tCLm4vk3Eqb_0sxRXzOkeqw1nC0ujiqJ/view?usp=sharing
Thank you!
