4.4.4 upgrade to 5.1 500 error on frontend

Hello. I have just tried updating 2x Joomla 4.4.4 sites to 5.1, both running JA Coach template and near identical extensions loaded. One worked perfectly. The other gave a 500 error on front end. Back end working OK. The top level error message said "0 - Class "Joomla\CMS\MVC\View_JHtmlView" not found".

I turned on full error reporting and can send you the full error logs privately. I think it may be to do with T4.

I have since installed the last backup and the site, back to Joomla 4.4.4, is back working OK.

I would like to still upgrade to 5.1 and hope you can assist.

pjbg Are you using latest version of T4 framework and template?

If possible, share with me the URL + super admin account so I can have a closer look and check for you.

Hello. Yes. Latest T4 and template.
However, I have had problems with JA Extension Manager. It didn't alert me, but I went searching, there is an update to 2.7.6 which would not upgrade via the Extension Manager itself. It gave a 500 error (in red but with no disruption to site). I have another new 5.1 site (new installation) that I cannot install JA Extension Manager at all as it also gives 500 error in red. Another site, it upgraded OK to 2.7.6 no problem. But I think maybe JA Extension Manager is causing the conflict on the problem sites. Do you think so? I will send login details.

pjbg I installed latest version of JAEM into this site and you can see it's showing normally.

Also, I have the same issue on other sites where the Ext. Manager will not upgrade with 500 error. Did you do a fresh install instead of upgrade?

Tried again to update to Joomla 5.1 but same error 500 front end. Meanwhile, reinstalled 4.4.4. site.

I see that information but this site is using Joomla 4 and I don't get 500 error there.

Hello, this post was all about updating to Joomla 5.1 from 4.4.4. I tried updating, and got error 500 on front end. Back end OK.

I have reinstalled old 4.4.4 site as this is a live site. I supplied the error message to you that I received on front end at beginning of this thread. It was shared with Moderator only. Can you still see this or would you like me to post again?

pjbg I meant that you can update your site to J5.1 or if there is a dev site so I can see the issue directly and check for you. At this moment, your site is in Joomla 4 and I can't guess the issue and help you out.
