  • JA Content Slider fails to call template when article is selected

I have added the module JA Content Slider to my home page in T4 Page Builder.
When I select an article, it opens with no header or footer.
I've searched the problem and the solutions all say to create a menu item for either the article or the blog category it is part of.
Far too many articles to create individual menus, but when I assign the articles to a single blog category and create a menu for that category, it still will not go to a page with the header/footer displayed. It does work for articles with their own menu.

I have moved a number articles into the blog category called Blog.
These appear when the menu item is selected, but even from the blog menu layout, selecting an individual article, the article does not show on a template.

This site was upgraded from 4.x where it was working fine. Upgrade to 5.x and added the T4 Page Builder component.

Just tested a different template: Just for the blog menu item, I set the template back to my original template and everything works fine.

I have now set up two blog menus so you can see how the two templates respond.

    You can simply open the menu item of that page and assign template style you want to that menu item:

      I did that already... if you look at the two blog menus, one is set for the lifestyle template that works and the other is set for the t4_bs5_blank that does not work.

      If you click on the images noted on the screen shot, they each are categorized so that one will call the lifestyle menu and the other is under the category called by the T4 Blog menu.

      But the one that is in the T4 Blog menu doesn't trigger the template as it should.

        it should appear with the T4_bs_blank template. The lifestyle template is going to be removed. It is only there for the migration. As you can see in the menu configuration, the T4_bs_blank template is set up for the menu, and it works when selected. But the articles that are part of the category currently assigned to that menu, do not trigger the template when called from the JA Content Slider.

        I have set another article to the same blog category just to show it is not related to the JA Content Slider. It's an article directly on the Home page. When you click on the Read More button, you will see it does not call the template.

        It really does not matter which category I set in the blog menu, any category that is defined in the blog menu that is set to trigger the T4 blank template and does not have another specific menu assigned to an individual article, will not trigger the template.

          It's due to the layout configuration only, the detailed article page will inherit the subpage layout of template, you set to use 'pagebuilder' layout so it looked strange.

          I just set it to 'default' layout and it's showing normally now:
