Payment plugins stopped working after 6.2.2 update

Hi, i had a problem regarding callback not working with our custom plugins that were developed in 6.2.1 version. When i updated to 6.2.2 they stopped working. The callback url gives a blank page instead of going to website page and the order status is never updated.

My plugin developer said it's a general problem because paypal was not working also.

So i tested the following:

Step 1) Joomla 4 fresh install on a test domain and Guru 6.2.1, paypal (sandbox account) payment works

Step 2) Update from 6.2.1 to 6.2.2 paypal stopped working.

Step 3) Fresh install directly version 6.2.2 without upgrading paypal also dowsn't work

So it seems it's a problem for all payment plugins and not only my custom.

I would like you to confirm this and also tell me if i can just downgrade from 6.2.2 just by installing 6.2.1 on top of 6.2.2.

With Paypal, did you try with GURU Payment Plugin - Paypal Smart Button plugin?

I'm sorry but after trying that plugin i don't know how to configure those type of payment buttons in paypal.

So right now, i reverted back to the only version that's working for me that is the one you shared via Google Drive on another post of mine that solved Multilingual Categories that weren't showing up. This update stayed in version 6.2.1 so there's defintively a problem on the 6.2.2 version as for various tests i've already made.

Also you have failed to update the changelog since 2022 so i really don't what have been altered on this new version.

We can replicate this error and fixed it for the new version.

For now, you can try this tweak:
1/ Download + install Paypal Smart Button plugin here: https://www.joomlart.com/member/downloads/ijoomla/guru/guru-payment-plugins
2/ Publish plugin and add Paypal Client ID + secret of your Paypal in plugin configuration
3/ Backup this file on your site:

root\components\com_guru\controllers\guruBuy.php

and replace with attached file: (unzip first)

4/ Test again with Paypal Smart button method.
