Hi Guys,

It was not a easy decision. iJoomla lifetime users have been provided with updates on a regular basis effective May 2017, that is a longer period than offered to Gavick and JoomlaBamboo lifetime users (6 months update).

One needs to understand that lifetime membership plans are not practical and does not contribute towards product development and continuous maintenance.

The decision is not about extracting more money from current lifetime members. We have taken multiple steps to make things easier for members, we have removed the domain limitations, copyright removal restrictions and are offering support for unlimited domains, offering highly discounted all club access. We do understand that our sales are bound to be affected by these decisions but these decisions are important from member's point of view as they no longer have to worry about domains or support or anything, they can now use everything all across.

You are wrong ! lifetime is lifetime ! Unless you remove totaly the component we buy lifetime you have to honor the deal !
As i can see you still selling adagency, not the only the fact you have moved members to another platform give you the right to change the deal !

Best way would be to ask members if they agree or give money back ! That's all !

I too paid for lifetime memberships and think that this is unfair to us, the buyers; regardless of the merger or acquisition, good business and customer service is to honor what we purchased for the lifetime of the product.

Discounts and forcing us to buy new memberships to ultimately line your pocket really is unfair - as ddsun said, we as the customers who have supported these developers should have been included in the discussion

yes you are correct, you will indeed lose business, but not because of the quality of your products but because of the failure to stand behind the products that were sold, regardless of the terms that were set and the hardships you would have to undertake to provide that service
- and I am 100% sure you were aware of these lifetime memberships before you acquired these companies...

Hi There,

I understand your frustration but ultimately it comes down to a binary choice with new ownership - the software has a different payment model or the product disappears. To continue lifetime membership dooms the product to eventual obsolescence as support and updates dwindle to nothing.

I say this as part of the JoomlaBamboo team where we operated a similar lifetime membership and ultimately led to the failure of the company.

I appreciate this isn't what you want to hear but unfortunately product development takes a lot of money and with the new memberships the product will continue to exist.

Question: I am now being forced to upgrade or let my lifetime plan go. (Joomla Bamboo). I am not ready to make that decision yet. $20 discounts are not equivilent to paying hundreds of dollars more at the time for a lifetime subscription. Can I just sut on this and make the decison later, or will you canx my account of I dont do something? Basocally, my account now says "Jommla Bamboo Legacy". If i do nothing, will it just be canx?

Edit: It's NOT legal to sell something and not honor the terms of the sale. Users who purchased lifetime memberships should be offered a refund if we are being forced to purchase something we already paid for under different ownership. Anyone interested in joining a class action lawsuit?
