Upgrading from Joomla 4 to 5.1.2 - Error Joomla\CMS\Event\Module\ModuleList

I'm upgrading from Joomla 4.4.6 to 5.1.2 and upgraded my theme from Purity iii to Purity IV last week before doing so.

Today when I went to Joomla 5 the whole site is down showing the following error when I have the theme on Purity IV.

Joomla\CMS\Event\Module\ModuleListEvent::onSetModules(): Argument #1 ($value) must be of type array, null given, called in /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/libraries/src/Event/AbstractEvent.php on line 227

An error has occurred while processing your request.

I switched the theme to Cassiopeia and the site works fine. I switched it back to Purity iii and it works with a couple issues. But Purity IV doesn't work at all.

I disabled the modules that are on the pages and nothing corrected it.

My T4 Framework is up to date at version 2.4.2, but the template shows there were 8 changes/differences found in the upgrade.

Can I get some assistance?

You can share the URL and the super admin account + ftp account of your site. I will take a look.

Ive updated the fields with login info.

This is a DEV site and the current theme is Purity iii so you will need to change it

Hello,

I know it's the wrong forum, but I ran into the same error on T4 Blank. I didn't have a chance to troubleshoot, but if there's anything I can provide that may pinpoint the problem, please let me know.

An answer from another forum fixed this for me. Rename /administrator/cache/t4core/ModuleHelper.php.

Ok so I added the period to the file name and see that it fixed it. But wont this just break again if the core files are updated?

If you see I the thread I simply did what someone else said to do by adding a period to the file name /administrator/cache/t4core/ModuleHelper.php.

It works now but when I went back into the folder at /administrator/cache/t4core/ there are now 2 files ( I didnt add/copy the file, it did it on its own), one with the period and one without. So this doesn't make sense to me and my question is what happens when there are core file updates?
