You can control this redirection via System - Jomsocial Redirect plugin in backend of your site.

Thanks for the answer. How do I solve this if the site is multilingual and I want to direct the user to the community main page in their language after logging in?

Once you add translation for the JomSocial Toolbar, user could see the community main page with the language he is viewing.
