I would like to do this too. In that space to the left is the position called "read-next" and it seems to be mandatory to only use that position for the read-next module. When I try to place other types of modules there, the layout breaks. When you change the template layout settings and remove the read-next position, it will simply leave a blank space. I would like to know how to make the component take up 100% of the space when the read-next position is removed.
