Blog image only

On my quickstart site here, https://www.product-adviser.com/proto/#, the tabs module position has blogs, categories 'Featured' and 'Popular'. Only the image shows and when you click on the image you are taken to the blog. I want this for my site. At the moment the image is not neatly cropped and no date shows on it like the quick start. How do I get that effect? I want the image and the small captioned test in the dark background to the bottom of the image.

Looking at the site the settings for the module need to be tweaked

you are using a k2 module which doesn't this capability - you need to use a zentools module

If you need help with this - I can create a module example if needed

Okay I need some help. The quick start has a module postiion called , "Feature-1" and I don't see that as a template position on my site. The quickstart site is here: http://www.product-adviser.com/proto/. Secondly, under the 'Content Type Settings' I can't choose any of my categories. The only option is 'Select All Categories'. In the quickstart the module I am referring to is "New below slide show".
Not seeing the module position 'Feature 1' is what stomped me.

Looking at the template this module isn't used

Featured-1 is a made up position e.g. using loadposition {loadposition featured-1}

Okay, my bad, maybe that module was not responsible for what I was looking at. I'll do screenshots to ensure we're on the same table. My site which is in the creds is showing K2 items as highlighted by screenshot k2_1. Text on one side and image on the other side. The quick start site on the url http://www.product-adviser.com/proto/. has the same K2 items but images only as shown in screenshot k2_2. What I love about k2_2 screenshot is the image as well as some text, not sure where the text is pulling from but text to the bottom of the image as shown by the arrow. I want to know how to get my k2 items to look like the ones in the quickstart. How do I get my items to look like the ones in k2_2 screenshot.

As apparently seen, To get the similar styling and appearence, You can assign zentools grid style module to tabs module position and then, change content source to K2 in layout sub-tab and do further configurations accordingly

You may also follow the documentation excerpt here under frontpage tab - Zentools Grids published to Tabs position which outlines as how specific modules have been configured for respective position as also seen in quickstart demo site

You have assigned K2 content module as of now to respective position heneceforth, similar styling and appearence isnt to be seen

Okay, what you said worked. Would still like to know the exact location of the documentation. Having said that, the width of the title bar below the image is wider than the image itself. I need to set up so that they always match up. I don't want to worry about character count for the title etc, cause that would mean I have to look at every post before I post it. How can I set it so that the image with is the same as the with of the dark bar with the title? The red arrow in the screenshot show the difference. Right now the title bar width is greater than the image itself.

In furtherance to my previous forum post reply, You can click the tab as seen in screenshot and scroll down in order to reach the heading titled - Zentools Grids published to Tabs position although it appears that you already have configured the zentools module to get the desired results 🙂

Increasing the width of the image under the 'Image Settings Tab' of the zen module doesn't do much. Originally the width was 245 and I set it to 280. The title width is still larger than the image width

In addressing you relative query, K2 item layout appears fine for me. Ref: Screenshot

I think I may have gotten it, not sure so I still want your input or suggestion to the previous stated issue. But what I did was set the 'K2 Image Size' under 'Image size' tab to 'Medium'. Previously it was set to 'Small'.

An option that be useful is the "Make images fill 100% of the container."
