I can't get the Mail settings in the Global Configurations to work correctly. I keep getting the message - Error
Could not instantiate mail function.

I have tried the email for the site and also my own professional email address to test it with but it's not working with either email address. I have tried the PHP setup and SMTP setup and neither way works. I would prefer using the PHP Mail setup if possible. The site is set up with Joomla 5.1.1.

Please let me know if you need any further info from me. 🙂

Thanks!

    lacali21 Hi

I noticed that in System > Global Configuration > Server > Mail Settings, you're currently using the PHP Mail function. Please check with your hosting provider to see if there are any restrictions on PHP Mail. If there are, I recommend switching to SMTP for improved reliability.

This issue is server-related, so your hosting provider should be able to assist.

    Hi,

Thank you for the response. No there is not restrictions for PHP emails with the web hosting company. I use this same web hosting company for other Joomla sites that I have set up and they are working correctly. Any other suggestions? 🙂

I tested the same with the test mail feature in backend of your site but the same issue happened.

I recommend reaching out to your hosting provider's support team to investigate further. They should be able to check the server's email configuration and logs to identify any potential issues.
