Fitness Center Template will not upgrade from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4

Hi,

I tried to update a shape 5 template (Fitness Center) to Joomla 4 (4.30.0) from Joomla 3 (3.12.0) and it failed. I am attaching a screenshot of the web page when trying to open any webpage while under Joomla 4 debug. The Joomla 4 Console worked perfectly. I went through the process of removing any possible problem extensions, akeeba files, and older templates that are not supported by Joomla 4. I installed all the latest template files and modules. They all worked with Joomla 3, except for the S5 Image and Content Fader 4, and would not display any of the sliders, but everything else worked. I decided to go ahead with the update anyway thinking we could fix it after the fact. I tried removing the htaccess file and changing it to PHP 8 from PHP 7.4, but it is still the same. I am using MySQL version 5.7.44 with my hosting company Godaddy. I restored the backup and returned the Joomla 3 version which was fine again.

From what you see that I provided, have you seen this before? any suggestions? I cleaned up the pre-upgrade very intensely since I had done another Shape 5 template last year with success.

Hi Michael,

By default, the S5 Fitness Center template does not override the article layout:

root/templates/fitness_center/html/com_content/

It seems that in Joomla 3, you created a custom override in this folder. After migrating your site to Joomla 5, this override must be updated to ensure compatibility with Joomla 5 and the latest PHP version.

Please review all PHP files in the following folder on your site:
root/templates/fitness_center/html/com_content/

Update them as needed. Alternatively, you can temporarily rename this folder to confirm that the error is caused by the override. Renaming it will disable the override, allowing you to see if the issue persists.
