  • My JomSocial website is being attacked by spambots

I use JomSocial for years. My website has 80.000 registered users and I am being attacked by spambots EVERY SINGLE DAY for the last 2 YEARS with over 40 bots!
Can you give me one good reason why you haven't implemented the following?

1) Why JomSocial doesn't have a good Captcha in registration and we have to rely to Google on it? I am a noob and I can't install Google recaptcha! Just make a proper captcha so that we can avoid a MOUNTAIN of spam! Obviously you haven't tested JomSocial in so large websites.

2) Why Gmail.edu.pl can NOT be blocked through Backend/JomSocial/Registration/Blocked domains ?
2-3 of the daily emails come from there. I have blocked over 100 domains but this can't be blocked!

    One good reason for us to keep buying licence if you can't protect us from spammers?

    Sorry to hear that your site is experiencing spam issues. Are you using the latest version of JomSocial 4.9.5? This version supports Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile, and hCaptcha in case that you prefer not to use GG recaptcha

      I use 4.9.1 which also has Google ReCaptcha. I entered the Site key and Secret key but I saw no captcha in Registration.

        kotsolis Could you backup your site and install the latest version of Jomsocial first?

          I won't pay again for the latest version.

          I am paying you for a lot of years! Version 4,9,1 SHOULD have CAPTCHA that WORKS. Same for the older versions. I guess you never tested this in a website with more than 50.000 registered users.

          From what I understand, you’d prefer not to rely on Google reCAPTCHA. The latest JomSocial version now includes Cloudflare + hCaptcha as options, so I suggest updating to it for more choices.

              saguaros Ok I will probably upgrade in the future. But if it doesn't work again, I assume that with active subcription, you will be able to provide support by logging in and fixing any issues, right?
