Greetings, I am currently rolling through and updating my Joomla! websites to 5.25 from 5.23. All was going well until I came across a site that gave me a File Checksum Failed I have not seen this before. I tried to load up the new package vs just using the updater in Joomla! I have updated other Curb Appeal templates without issue. Please suggest fix?
File Checksum Failed
webcentric Hello
Could you clarify the steps you proceeded so I can replicate the same?
Currently the site is at Joomla5.2.3 when I use the Joomla updater I check the box that states I'm aware that a backup before any update is highly recommended. I click start update, then I get a redish pink box that says File Checksum Failed. I also tried to download the latest file and received the same message.
I have updated many other sites to Joomla 5 up to Joomla 5.25. But I have never had this error.
webcentric I can't replicate the same issue at my end. Could you take a backup of your site and use the Joomla Upgrade Package?
I have already tried that several times. I have tried to down load the latest update and use the J downloader, both present the same issue. I have updated other sites with the same template as well with no problems. My understanding is that it has something to do with an incorrect path folder. I can't really find the exact fix anywhere on line.
If you want access to test it out, I'll give it to you.

In most cases this is a server related issue. Incorrect temp path, PHP settings, lack of disk space etc. it is more of a Joomla issue than one with a JA product.
Have you tried downloading the update package and using that to update rather than using the live online tool? Have you checked the path is correct in configuration.php?
Yes, I have tried to use the Joomla updater to to advance the latest Joomla update as well as downloading the actual latest Joomla update file directly. I stated that in my opening message. I updated this site to J5.23 with no issue and multiple other sites up to J5.25 without issue. There is more than enough disc space.
How do I check for the correct path in the config.php file?
This is from Joomla.org forum.
