Can't select open link in Parent

The nav link 'Tell Annie' on my main page opens in a new window. I want it to open in the parent window so I specified on the Edit: Menu link, under 'Target Window', 'Parent'. However everytime I click save it defaults back to 'New Window With Navigation'. How do I get it to stay on 'Parent'? The link in question is 'Tell Annie'.

An interesting question and something I didn't know prior to this post - this menu link type is always set by the k2 component to load in a new window

It isn't a bug but an intended feature even though for me it feels like a bug

googling some people have set up a standard k2 item page and loaded the page via an iframe

Might be worth trying and see if this works and also works ok on phone / tablet

Yeah, this works. And the user experience is better with the modal window. Now I know why they had it like that.
